Grow Food Amherst is working to create a more resilient community by encouraging residents of Amherst and the surrounding towns to grow and buy healthy and affordable food locally.

UMass Food for All Garden

The idea for the UMass Food for All Garden grew out of a meeting between Grow Food Amherst and the Just Roots Farm in Greenfield, MA.  The garden is sponsored by the Stockbridge School of Agriculture and is managed by Sarah Berquist, instructor for the Stockbridge School.

UMass Sustainable Food and Farming students, Jason DePecol and Brian Horrocks, provide day to day care for the garden as well as offer an educational program in partnership with Not Bread Alone.  They invite you to join them in making food available to Amherst residents in need by participating in one or more of their volunteer work days at the garden this summer.
